A SPATE of vandalism at Windermere Library is continuing despite Cumbria County Council forking out for a high-tech security system.
Staff at the Ellerthwaite site are pouring over CCTV footage from the weekend after vandals targeted two newly installed cameras and sprayed silver graffiti across windows and walls.
Manager Kevin Price said: "This is the latest in a series of attacks but we are taking measures to prevent vandalism, including extra lighting at night and these cameras, which have only been up a couple of weeks.
"It's a shame that already someone has tried to damage them but at least we have footage to watch now to try and catch those responsible."
It is not yet known how much the damage will cost to repair.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 0845-3300247.
