A COMMUNITY group for the more mature adult is celebrating its first birthday after a successful year which saw more than 200 people join up.
Such is the popularity of The Furness U3A, or University of the Third Age, based in Ulverston, that it has spawned 26 individual groups, covering such diverse topics as philosophy and art, and also has a popular website. Although many of its members are retired people, the group is actually open to anyone who is no longer in full time employment. Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of every month at the Coronation Hall at 10am. For more information visit the website, www.furnessu3a.org.uk
