MORECAMBE boss Sammy McIlroy is sweating over the fitness of the talismanic Garry Thompson ahead of tonight's Conference cracker with Altrincham.
The in-form wide man suffered a dead leg in Saturday's 1-0 win over Crawley Town and the manager admits it is touch and go for the Kendal-born Thompson.
"Thommo is a worry," says McIlroy. "He took a knock on Saturday but I hope he will be okay for Altrincham.
"He is in wonderful form at the moment and it would be a loss if he had to miss out."
The Shrimps will aim to move back into fourth spot in the table against an Alty side determined to get something from Christie Park as they battle the drop.
"They are doing okay at the minute and have had some good results recently," McIlroy says. "They will be a tough team to beat and there is added spice because their manager Graham Heathcoate and his assistant Dalton Steele are big friends of mine and I am sure they will want to put one over on me.
"We have to approach the game in the right way and look to get the win."
