CUSTOMERS could soon be seeing stars when they visit their favourite shops and eateries, after councillors approved a new "scores on doors" scheme with health inspectors.
The decision means consumers will be able to see at a glance how hygienic food retailers are, either by logging on to the internet, or looking at the shop's own front door.
The scheme, which will be run by South Lakeland District Council's environmental health officers, was approved by cabinet members on Wednesday.
