EXCITEMENT is growing in a corner of Kendal after a weekend of merry-making was confirmed for May.
Support for the three-day Gooseholme May Fair and nominations for the ale-drinking title of Mayor of Doodleshire have been flooding in since the idea was first mooted last month.
And among the initiatives being brewed up by organisers is a fund-raising frothy mead from the Hawkshead-based Cumbrian Legendary Ales.
The event, dedicated to the rebellious mythical hero, Dickie Doodle, is now set to commence on Friday, May 18, when visitors and residents from the Far Cross area of the town will descend on the Castle Street Centre to vote in their new mayor.
