ROCK solid Danny Adams reckon Morecambe have what is takes to cut the mustard at the business end of the Conference.
And the veteran defender says the Shrimps would not be out of place in the Football League.
Adams dropped two divisions from Huddersfield Town but insists his move to Christie Park isn't a backward step.
"I didn't want to drop into the Conference - but I feel at home at Morecambe," he says.
"The lads are spot on, Sammy McIlroy and Mark Lillis are good people to work for and the set up is that of a professional club.
"The team is good enough to get promoted and the club is in a position to survive if promotion arrives.
"And it could happen this season - there is no reason why not."
Adams is already becoming a crowd favourite after two top displays. He linked-up with the Shrimps on the eve of the crunch match at Forest Green Rovers.
He was awesome in that game and also stood out on Saturday in the 2-0 win over St Albans City as his League class shone through.
"There is no way that I wanted to drop down two divisions at this stage of my career," says the 31-year-old.
"But when Huddersfield told me that would not be getting a new contract then I felt that I had to move straight away.
"I know Sammy and Mark Lillis and have worked with them before so I knew what to expect. It wasn't a risk coming here."
