SAMMY McIlroy was happy with the three points after his Shrimps saw off St Albans City 2-0 on Saturday.
Morecambe were nowhere near their best but goals from new loan man Matty Blinkhorn and a stoppage time special from Garry Thompson settled the match in their favour.
"At this stage of the season a win is all that matters," says McIlroy (pictured).
"The premium thing is to collect three points and that's what we did, although the scoreline did flatter us somewhat.
"We deserved to win but I don't think we deserved to win 2-0."
Of loan man Blinkhorn, signed from Blackpool, McIlroy adds: "He came in late on Friday afternoon and hadn't trained with the boys so he did well.
"He is actually a player I wanted a few weeks ago but Blackpool wouldn't let him out on loan because they had too many injuries "But it's good to have him here now and he worked his socks off."
The manager was also delighted with Garry Thompson's stunning late goal and adds: "Thommo took his goal well; it is a difficult skill the master when the ball drops over your shoulder but I was right behind it and it was in as soon as it left his boot."
The Shrimps were due at Rushden and Diamonds last night before Saturday's next crucial Christie Park clash with Crawley Town.
