THE restaurateur behind Kendal's Castle Dairy has told how a number of pressures forced him to close his doors.
Michael Ryan has shut the Wildman Street business, based at Kendal's oldest inhabited building, which is also Grade I listed, after two years.
Mr Ryan, who was in partnership with his wife, Lucy, said that the business had gone into voluntary receivership.
"There's nothing you can put your finger on to say that was the root cause - it's a number of things really," he said.
"We have done everything we could to keep it going and it was not quite enough."
