DRIVERS are being warned to keep the A685 between Tebay and the train crash site at Grayrigg clear as the operation to remove the carriages gets underway.
Removal vehicles, cranes and heavy machines are expected to descend on the village today (Thursday) before work to remove the Pendolino carriages begins tomorrow (Friday).
Cumbria Police have warned that all parked vehicles must be removed from the road and no- waiting cones are to be put in place throughout the village. Any vehicles parked along the route will be uplifted.
Motorists will still have access to the route, but no vehicle is to be left unattended.
The restrictions will be in place until the last train carriage is removed, which is expected to happen on Wednesday, March 7.
