MOTORISTS wishing to travel on the A684 road between Sedbergh and Garsdale will be inconvenienced this week as the road is partly closed for a period of six days for three kilometres of resurfacing work.
The road was last week closed for six-and-a-half hours a day for from 9am to 3.30pm and, after a break this weekend, work will restart tomorrow Monday (March 5) until Thursday (March 8). A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said the closure times had been chosen to allow school buses through and to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents. The works are costing £320,000. Anyone with a compelling reason to avoid the closure should call engineer Nick Raymond on 01539-773006 to discuss a special arrangement.
