CUMBRIA'S emergency services were praised by investigators of the Graygrigg rail crash as the clearing up process begins.
Speaking at lunchtime today (February 26) deputy chief constable Andy Trotter, of the British Transport Police, spoke of the "major engineering problem" and "forensic recovery" that is underway.
Lorries laden with stone arrived at the scene this morning as the neighbouring farmer's field was being turned into a construction site.
DCC Trotter praised locals for their patience stating he was very conscious of the impact the investigation was having on the local area.
