Strike saviour Danny Carlton says he is delighted to be back leading the Morecambe attack - and insists he will be razor sharp in time for Saturday's Conference rip-roarer at Forest Green.
The hot-shot made an impressive full return from his horrific knee injury during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Cambridge, despite just five minutes of senior action and just under an hour in the reserve team under his belt.
And he wants to hit form to fire the Shrimps back into life.
"I was a little bit tired after about 75 minutes - but that is only to be expected," the tells the Citizen.
"It was great to be back playing though - and it certainly beats watching.
"I will be sharper fwith another week of training and want to make up for lost time."
Carlton was an ace away from winning the game for the Shrimps only to see goalkeeper Shane Herbert deny him with a magnificent flying save.
"I thought I had scored with that one," adds Carlton. "I hit the ball well but somehow the keeper got there.
"It would have been nice to score - but there is plenty of time left this season. I feel fresh and my season is just starting when everyone else's is reaching the business end."
