SHOPPERS will be encouraged to munch it, wear it, taste it, choose it during the next two weeks as the annual Fair Trade campaign gets under way.
Fair Trade Fortnight kicks off on Monday (February 26) in a bid to encourage people to buy products carrying the Fair Trade mark, which guarantees that farmers in developing countries have received an agreed and stable price for their crops.
The Fair Trade Foundation, which runs the national event, is urging people to choose Fair Trade by running a series of events across South Lakeland and Eden.
For full details of events celebrating Fair Trade, see the February 23 edition of The Westmorland Gazette.
