IT MAY have begun life in a shed, but 30 years on Kendal Hospital Radio is a high-tech operation with equipment that some mainstream radio stations would envy.
The station, based in a studio suite at Kendal's Westmorland General Hospital, is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and is going from strength-to-strength.
Station manager John Williamson, 49, and treasurer Ernie Woodcock, 65, have together clocked up nearly 20 years at the station, and they will be joining some of the other 36 volunteers at a bash this weekend to mark the occasion.
