A COLLECTION of historic memorabilia dating back to 1925 has been discovered in the roof space of an Eden hall.
Members of the Brough Memorial Hall Trust were stunned when they unearthed a collection of items and discovered among the dust and cobwebs several antique decorated shields and collecting tins from a gala held more than 80 years ago.
The roof space is currently being insulated, 150 years after the oldest part of the hall was built, and the items were brought to light after contractors began to work on the roof.
Marion Williams, secretary of the Brough Memorial Hall Trust, was informed about what was first thought to be junk' and, along with her husband and committee member Martin Cowin, began to empty the space.
If anyone has information or memories of any of the items, they are urged to contact Mrs Williams on 017683-42135.
