Can the staff at RSPB Leighton Moss nature reserve tempt you into volunteering your time?

This local visitor attraction is short of people to help-out in their tearoom and would love you to come and join their friendly team!

It would be a chance to meet new people and perhaps learn new skills as well as assisting the work of the RSPB, Europe's largest wildlife conservation charity.

All that's required is that you have a friendly personality with good customer care skills and you're able to volunteer for at least a few hours a month. Appropriate training will be provided and expenses will be reimbursed where necessary. Once you have volunteered for a while there is the added bonus of being able to get 20% discount in the RSPB shop!

If you are interested, please contact Gill Saunders, RSPB Leighton Moss catering manager, on 01524 703016 or email gill.saunders@rspb.org.uk.

For information about other volunteering opportunities with the RSPB, please visit www.rspb.org.uk/volunteering or call Kirsten Whittaker, volunteers officer, on 01484 861148.

It is easy to come to the reserve by public transport; Silverdale station is just 150 metres from the visitor centre, on the Preston to Barrow line.

For train information tel: 08457 484950, for bus information tel: 0870 608 2608.

The reserve is 2 miles/3km north of Carnforth and is signposted A6 north from J35 of the M6.
