LONGER stay parking charges look set to be reduced in South Lakeland in a bid to boost the local economy.
Members of South Lakeland District Council's cabinet committee agreed to recommendations that would see longer stays of up to nine hours drop in price by £1 for the coming 2007/08 financial year.
It is hoped the changes, agreed on Wednesday, will help local businesses by encouraging visitors to stay longer and spend more in towns and villages.
