JUST two years after the introduction of the 10mph speed limit on Windermere, the possibility of some exceptions being allowed appears to be back on the cards.

Next month, members of the Lake District National Park Authority will be asked if they would be willing to consider opening talks on a "managed solution for recreation" on the lake.

The meeting is likely to attract considerable interest, as it would be the first time such an item has been discussed.

In the past, a managed solution has been used to describe a system which would allow some watersports to take place on the lake at 10mph and faster, under particular restrictions, such as specific times or parts of the lake.
