THE South Lakeland Conservative group has launched a major election campaign that promises to be the largest the area has ever seen.
Vowing to fight for the seat that was "stolen" from them in 2005 by Liberal Democrat Tim Farron, Conservative MPs promised a strong comeback with the announcement of the party's future vision for change in South Lakeland - just weeks after the resignation of the party's Westmorland and Lonsdale prospective parliamentary candidate Richard Bell.
Penrith and the Border MP David Maclean, who was brought in to provide support to the Westmorland and Lonsdale Conservative Association after Mr Bell's departure, launched the campaign.
"Never in the history of this Conservative Party have we fielded so many candidates in district council elections," said Mr Maclean.
