Young people in a South Lakeland coastal resort could soon be expending their energies at a brand new skate park and recreation area.
At a meeting of South Lakeland District Council's planning committee, councillors gave the go-ahead for the creation of a youth recreation area, featuring skateboard ramps, kickabout area, youth shelter and climbing wall on land at the south west end of the promenade at Grange-over-Sands.
The scheme is part of the Grange Youth Promenade Project that aims to improve recreational facilities for young people in the town and the layout and content of the facilities have been developed in consultation with young people in the community.
