In an old beer cellar, under a converted brewery, in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, happens one of the most exciting music festivals in the country.
Gateway, the incredible month long festival of international Roots music, returns to the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal in March.
From Marrakech to Rio de Janeiro, Louisiana to Barcelona and Edinburgh to Jamaica, the cross section of roots' music features musicians from the top of their profession alongside some of the newest and most exciting emerging artists, never before seen in the UK.
The Family Mahone, Blazin' Fiddles, Salsa Celtica and Azymuth / Brazilian after gig party are just a few in the line up.
Gateway is the only festival to primarily feature new roots music, including genres such as English & European Folk, Reggae, Dub, Latin, Asian, Jazz, African and Blues.
Mike Chadwick, the Brewery's music programmer and well-known broadcaster and DJ has organised the strongest line-up to date for 2007.
