TIC Dynamos got back to winning ways to strengthen their position at the top of the North Lancashire League as they strolled to success at Galgate.

Layton Young and Simon Marshall both bagged braces in the 4-0 romp - and their position at the summit was enhanced as their two closest rivals Highgrove and Storeys drew 3-3.

That was a thrilling game as the young Highgrove side threw everything at the reigning champions. Russell Mitchell put Grove ahead but John Hargreaves - in his first game after a long injury lay-off - levelled.

But Highgrove went back in front when Luke Ogley scored before Alec Forbes netted to make it 3-1. At this stage Storeys were getting a real chasing but Andy Sanderson's diving header made it 3-2.

Both sides had a goal disallowed - but Hargreaves struck his second to make it 3-3.

Slyne crashed 5-1 to Cartmel, while Westgate Wanderers enjoyed a rare success as goals from Britt Bays and Kevin Byrne edged them to a 2-1 win over Caton United, while Torrisholme and Morecambe Royals drew 0-0 and a Damien Murphy penalty earned Boys Club a 1-1 draw with Morecambe Royals.

Marsh United were in cup action - and progressed into the fifth round as they beat Kirkby Lonsdale 3-1 thanks to goals from Kevin Coulton, Vernon Middleton and Jordan Sparks but it took extra-time to separate the sides.

In Division One, Marsh reserves crashed 4-1 at Carnforth Rangers as Alec Gorton, Gavin Darby, Peter Chippendale and Michael Whitham struck for the home side, while Storeys reserves also hit four to see off Ingleton reserves.

Mark Davies and Andrew Crook were on target for Vine but goals from Jamie Bradbury and Aiden Dunphy made it 2-2 for Morecambe Royals Reserves.

Chris Mather, Mark Smith and Peter Bowdon were on target for Bolton-le-Sands in a 3-0 win at Caton reserves, while Stuart Gordon, Steven Hey and Lee Richardson netted for Halton Rangers against Morecambe Hoops, that game finished 3-1 as Robert Goldsborough scored for the Hoops.

Andy Armistead and Gareth Pedder banged a brace each for Morecambe Cricket Club in a 4-1 win over Swarthmoor Social Club.

In Division Three a Mike Butler brace saw Gregson to a 2-0 win over Moorlands and Bowerham beat Boys Club reserves 3-0 thanks to two goals from Andy Doggert and a Matty Bateson own goal, while Galgate reserves beat Burton Thistle and Central Pier hammered Allithwaite 7-2 with Darren Mattinson scoring four goals.

Middleton reserves went goal crazy in Division Four's Cunningham Cup as they swamped Gregson reserves 10-0 as Jamie Parker hit four goals and Andy Boyd a hat-trick.
