RESIDENTS are being encouraged to use the Silverdale Shuttle bus to prevent it being threatened with closure.
The call was made at Silverdale Parish Council amid concerns that the bus service could be put under the spotlight at a budget meeting of Lancashire County Council on Thursday (February 15).
Lancashire county councillor Sarah Fishwick believes that the service, which runs from Holgates Caravan Park to the railway station, is as important as the Carnforth Connect bus service, which has been under the threat of closure for some time. "If this bus service was lost the village would become isolated," said Coun Fishwick.
"We just want people to realise that it's there for people to use."
