Schoolboy James Williamson is in line to pull on the England jersey after being selected for top-level trials for the international under017s team.
The 16-year-old star of the future is a pupil at Lancaster Royal Grammar and cannot wait for the trials.
He says: "I'm excited about it. It's not definite that I'll play for England yet though. It's quite nerve-wracking because I still have to try out, there's a cut of 10 players. But I'm quietly confident.
"I'm playing on the wing so I'm quite nervous about that as well because it's a new position for me."
James is juggling training with studying for his GCSEs but adds: "It's not too bad at the moment, I haven't had any exams yet."
The selection process will determine whether or not James will play for his country and he says: "There's a training camp in February half term and then a couple of training weekends after that.
"Then, who I end up playing against depends on what team I get picked for. The England team plays in the Four Nations and the England A team play in the Youth International Tournament."
Regardless of which team he ends up playing for though, James will have a lot of support. "I've got a big family so hopefully there should be a few of them down there to support me. They're really proud of me and pleased that I've come this far," he smiles.
