FIREFIGHTERS tackled two chimney blazes in South Lakeland within the space of an hour on Tuesday night.
At 8.45pm crews were called to a fire in a property close near High Dixon Ground and Old Furness Road in Coniston.
Smoke had spread to the loft, with the fire confined to the flue. A hose reel jet and specialist chimney equipment was used to tackle the fire.

An hour later firefighters attended a chimney fire in Kentmere Road, Staveley. They removed debris from a log burning stove and used a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
