ENGINEERS have taken the plunge to inspect some of the Lake District’s liquid assets.
Divers went deep beneath Windermere to take a look at some of the submerged pipes and chambers that lie 20 metres below the surface belonging to water company United Utilities.
The five-strong dive team spent four days inspecting and performing minor repairs on two intake pipes, a stormwater pipe and an underwater chamber.
