PLANS to house three cheetahs at a visitor attraction near Cartmel are to be considered by Lake District planners.
Predator Experience, at Ayside, offers falconry tuition and walks with wolves and hawks, among other experiences with predators.
The national park's development control committee heard that work had been carried out without planning permission, but a planning application for housing for the cheetahs had now been submitted.
Head of development management David McGowan told the committee: "It is, as you can imagine, locally contentious."
Planners agreed to visit the site before considering the plans.
