Pupils from Dallam School jumped for joy after receiving an ‘amazing’ set of results.
With an overall pass rate of 98 per cent, A-Level students were way ahead of the national average.
Life-long friends Matthew Edge and George Beale went to nursery, primary and secondary school together – now they are their school’s stand-out performers with Matthew getting three A*s and one A and George receiving an A*, an A and a B.
Matthew’s mum Julie said: “They have been together since toddler group. They both worked really hard and we’re very proud.”
Head teacher William Bancroft said: “We are pleased in the performance of all our students. Boys have put in a very strong performance this year which is encouraging at a time when we hear a great deal about the under-achievement of boys nationally.”
