Morecambe and Lunesdale David Morris MP has taken part in a number of First World War commemorations across the constituency.
This week marked the centenary of the start of the First World War and Mr Morris attended services at St Barnabas’ Church in Morecambe, the Cenotaph in Carnforth, the Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme and the poppy scatter beds in Happy Mount Park to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War.
He said: “I have been honoured to have been invited to attend a number of commemoration services across the constituency joining veterans, members of the public and a large number of our young people to remember the sacrifices our armed forces made all those years ago.
“I was also amazed to see on Twitter people's photos from Monday night - so many people right across the constituency took part in the Royal British Legion’s #lightsout campaign.”
