A KENDAL teacher who worked at the same school for 27 years has retired.
Year Six teacher Sue Wagstaff spent most of her working life at Vicarage Park School but also taught at the town’s Queen Katherine School.
She said: “I love being with children and I knew I wanted to be a teacher from an early age. I have so many favourite memories but this year’s school Shakespeare Festival, in which the whole of my Year Six class performed Twelfth Night at the Dukes Theatre, is one of my best memories.

“I can’t measure how much I’ve enjoyed it. It’s meant the world to me!”
Headteacher Bernadette Calvey added: “We are all sad to see Mrs Wagstaff retire. She has been a dedicated, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher for many years. The wealth of opportunities that she has organised for the children have had a wonderful impact on the learning of every child.
“I see many children discovering their potential through her inspiring teaching.”
