To mark the anniversary of Lancaster Castle’s grand gate opening in 2013, this year’s May Bank Holiday weekend promises to draw the crowds once again to the Grade 2 Listed building, with activities to be enjoyed by all the family.
From Saturday, May 24 – Monday, May 26, families can meet two grave robbers and enjoy their courtyard show ‘Only Fools and Corpses’; watch mock trials by the Justice of the Peace in the courtyard as visitors attempt to avoid a spell in the stocks; and see birds of prey perform flying displays. In addition, younger visitors can enjoy a range of craft activities.
Entry to the castle will be charged at £2 per person.
Also, a brand new experience will be coming to Lancaster Castle as performers bring to life the justice system that operated hundreds of years ago.
The costumed actor experience called ‘Justice’ will take visitors on a 45-minute interactive walk, culminating in discovering the fate of the ‘accused’.
The ‘Justice’ experience will operate every 30 minutes between 11am-5pm, with tickets available for £7.50 per adult, and £5 per child.
Launching over the Bank Holiday, this brand new walk-through experience will then return on June 14, 15 and on July 5 and 6and then seven days a week during the summer holidays.
