ERIN Still, a student of Queen Elizabeth School at Kirkby Lonsdale, was elected as Sports Day Rose Queen during the Daffodil Show.
The annual show attracted dozens of entries to the 26 classes attended by a large crowd of residents and visitors.
The children’s section was thoughtful, imaginative and inventive: a decorated hard-boiled egg kitted-out as a skier, a large, tray of handmade decorated chocolate eggs from the Guides, along with colourful paper mache and felt eggs from the Brownies and Rainbows.
The open classes of daffodils, Easter cakes, hen’s eggs, homemade bakes, preserves and rhubarb made a brilliant display.
The grand raffle and auction of promises rounded off a busy day as almost £1,600 was raised for local good causes, a record amount for the annual show.
