A WOMAN was freed from her car after a head-on crash near Kendal earlier today (Friday).
Firefighters were called to the two vehicle collision near Borrans Farm, Whinfell, at 11.11am.
The driver of an Audi was suffering from back and neck pain and was removed from the vehicle by firefighters with the help of a spinal board.
The other vehicle suffered front edge damage but nobody was injured, said watch manager Stuart Hook.
"The casualty wasn't keen on us cutting the roof off so we changed the plan and put her on a spinal support before manoeuvring her around to bring her out the side."
She was left in the care of paramedics and firefighters left the scene around 11.45am.
