THE Burton-in-Kendal Amateur Dramatic Society (BADS) has raised £1,250 for CancerCare by staging the hit comedy ‘Calendar Girls’.
BADS Director Alyson Yates said: “We performed in front of three packed out audiences in the Burton Memorial Hall and we thought it would be nice to take the opportunity to do a bit of fundraising for local charity.”
CancerCare supports local people whose lives are affected by cancer as well as their families, carers and anyone bereaved by cancer.
Richard Cogger, CancerCare fundraiser, said: “The Calendar Girls are big stars to us! CancerCare rely on support from local groups like BADS so we can continue to offer our vital services free of charge to anyone affected by cancer.”
