STUDENTS at a South Lake-land school were bowled over with delight with a visit by former England cricket captain Alec Stewart.
One of the most capped English cricketers of all time, Stewart visited Kendal’s Queen Katherine School to work with 23 of its students and 42 pupils from primary schools.
PE teacher Gavin Hamilton said: “It was great to see young people from different schools, age groups and abilities enjoying playing cricket together and being inspired by Alec, one of the greats of the game.
“I really hope this will motivate these young people to continue to take part and do their best in whatever sport they choose.”
Head teacher Gareth Roscoe said: “It is great that our talented cricketers and coaches had this opportunity to meet and learn from Alec.”
