DALLAM School staff and students have said their goodbyes to one of their longest serving teachers.
Alan Moss has worked at the Milnthorpe school since 1978, initially as an English and French teacher before moving on to pastoral duties.
Asked about his first day, he said: “I remember being a little scared and there were some very scary students – one student in a full length leather coat in particular!
“I also upset the then deputy head by telling her that I wasn’t born when she started teaching. Now it’s the other way round.”
He now plans to complete long-distance cycling in the Hebrides while also continuing working with Adventure Learning, gardening with unusual Himalayan plants and making furniture.
