A YOUNG mountain biker was airlifted to hospital after hitting a wall on Potter Fell yesterday (Friday).
Kendal Mountain Rescue team called for an RAF Sea King helicopter because of concerns about the cyclist's injuries.
A team spokesman said: "We were called to the eastern edge of Potter Fell where a young man on a mountain bike had hit a wall.
"We were concerned that he could have potentially serious internal injuries so a helicopter evacuation was requested.
"We gave the casualty oxygen and stabilised him before carrying him to an RAF Sea King for transfer to hospital."
