A CAMPER was taken to hospital during the early hours of today after plunging 50ft at Hodge Close near Coniston.
The man in his fifties suffered severe head and suspected chest injuries in the incident which occurred just after midnight.
He was assisted by 11 members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team who worked with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, as well as paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service.
The man was transferred to Furness General Hospital.
