A 50-year-old is in hospital with serious injuries after a hang gliding accident in Eden.
The accident happened on Wednesday, between midday and 3.30pm on Tailbridge Hill near the B6270 at Nateby Common in Kirkby Stephen.
The man, who is believed to be from Bolton, was flown by air ambulance to the James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough. Police are now investigating how the accident happened and are appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “Cumbria Police are investigating a hang gliding accident. “Cumbria Police would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen this incident, or seen a hang glider or hang gliders in the area.”
