TWO climbers were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a crag in the Lake District.
The pair were on Black Crag in Great Langdale when the incident happened around 2pm today.
Rescuers were alerted and Langdale Ambleside and Kendal Mountain Rescue Teams were called out, along with the Great North Air Ambulance, the North West Air Ambulance and a Sea King search and rescue helicopter.
Both climbers were treated by a doctor and paramedic from the Pride of Cumbria (GNAA) for multiple injuries including head, chest and pelvis injuries.
The men were winched into the Sea King and flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne.
