MOUNTAIN rescuers from Patterdale were called out to two incidents without hours of each other yesterday.
The first took place at 3.30pm when the team was contacted by the North West Ambulance Service following reports of a walker with a head injury.
Eleven members attended the Lake Shore Path beneath Birkfell using a rigid inflatable boat, where they found and treated a woman.
She was later taken to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.
The second incident took place at 7.45pm when two walkers got lost in low cloud and storms on Caudale Moor.
The team say the team found the couple "cold, wet and hungry but otherwise in good spirits".
