KNIGHT Rider and Baywatch star David ‘The Hoff’ Hasselhoff was visiting the Lake District at the weekend with his girlfriend Hayley Roberts.
They stayed at the Holbeck Ghyll, Windermere, for two nights.
The couple were in one of the hotel’s new VIP suites and during his stay had massages in the spa, a gourmet tasting menu in the Michelin-starred restaurant and went flying over the Lakes in the hotel helicopter.
He even gave the hotel owner tickets and backstage passes to auction off at a charity ball he was helping to host at Windermere School on Saturday night.
Throughout his stay The Hoff, who is starring in panto in Manchester as Hook in Peter Pan, took to Twitter to share pictures of himself in and around the hotel with his 460,000 followers and described the Holbeck Ghyll and the food as ‘simply perfect’ and ‘heaven’.
“Mr Hasselhoff and his partner couldn't have been lovelier and helped to get everyone really into the Christmas spirit,” said general manager Andrew McPherson.
“He was telling us how hectic his panto schedule was and, because it was his last weekend off until the end of January, they were keen to get away somewhere special to relax. He said he'd had a wonderful time exploring Windermere and Ambleside and recharging his batteries before flying back to Manchester in the helicopter.
“While he was very happy to chat with other guests and staff, and pose for pictures, we get a number of high profile guests at the hotel and some are very keen on their privacy, which we always respect. We recently opened a fabulous private dining suite, the idea of which is that you can come and stay and dine in complete privacy if that’s what you wish.
“We showed the suite to the Hoff and he has already said he’ll be back as they have a big family birthday coming up.”
