COLQUHOUN Derek Of Ackenthwaite, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Kendal Care Home on 3rd June 2024, aged 93 years. Derek was a much-loved father of 5, grandfather to 9, great-grandfather to 5, and loving husband of 67 years to his wife Sheila, who survives him. Born in Bolton and raised in Yorkshire the family moved to Cumbria in 1970. For many years he was an advertising manager at K Shoes and in his spare time was a talented artist and writer, well-known locally for his skilful caricatures. He was a funny and warm man who never failed to entertain family and friends with endless stories and jokes. Derek, we will look for you in the clouds. The funeral service will be held at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Monday 17th June at 3.30pm. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Alzheimer's Society.
