BATESON Dorothy Dorothy passed away peacefully on 24th January at Swarthdale Nursing Home after a long illness, aged 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Jeffrey, much loved mother of David and the late Philip, dear mother-in-law of Maureen, a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, auntie and good friend to many. Special thanks for their care to the staff of Swarthdale and also Kingsfield Care Home. Dorothy was formerly a domestic science teacher at Dowdales School and a dedicated volunteer for several charities in her retirement. The funeral service will take place at Thorncliffe Crematorium, Barrow on Thursday 8th February at 12.15pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to be shared between Save The Children Fund and Riding For The Disabled and may be left at the service or via the Little and Caine website.
