NEWMAN Derek William Stanley Derek, aged 91, passed away on 6th December 2023 after a very short illness. The devoted husband of Madeleine, to whom he had been married for 67 years, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Derek was a highly regarded businessman and loved the Lake District and Yorkshire National Park where he lived with Madeleine for more than 50 years. A private committal service will be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at St John the Evangelist's Church, Cowgill at 1pm on Thursday 28th December 2023. All donations warmly welcomed by Dent Dale First Responders.
