BYRNE Jane Byrne, Eleanor Jane of Withington, Manchester died on 21st April in Wythenshawe Hospital aged 72 years. Jane was a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist and Senior Lecturer in Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Manchester, retired and an active member of the Dept of Health Clinical Research Network. Born and brought up in Milnthorpe. Dearly loved sister to Trish, Sue and Kevin (Michael & Eileen, dec) and treasured Aunt & friend to many. Jane will be much missed by her family and friends both in the UK and the Antipodes. A celebration of her life and the interment will be held in St Peter's Church, Heversham on Saturday 3rd June at 1.00pm. Family flowers only.

I had the priviledge of working with Dr Jane at Withington hospital Old Age Psychiatry unit and when the unit moved to Wythenshawe. Such a kind, gentle, knowledgeable woman who made time for everyone. I was so very sorry to hear about her passing. My sincerest condolences to her family
