ULVERSTON town councillors have backed plans from Mr J. English to build two semi-detached houses on land at the back of the former Bugle Horn pub at Soutergate.
Councillors also gave the thumbs up to a separate plan from Mr and Mrs J. McMullen to convert a store at The Dairy on Bugle Horn Hill into a home.
Coun Colin Hodgson said the developments should create the kind of affordable homes needed by the community and re-presented infill development to be welcomed in the town centre.
The applications will now be determined by South Lakeland District Council.
