RADIO 1 DJ Zane Lowe takes his Home Taping tour north next weekend.
The antipodean is set to bring his alternative club night to Carlisle's Sands Centre next Saturday (November 26).
The UK tour plugs a soon to be released album pulled together by Zane, featuring a some of his favourite musicians.
The DJ who joined Radio 1 from XFM in 2003 has been following in the footsteps of John Peel and Steve Lamacq ever since, pushing the envelope of the rock, alternative, drum and bass and hip hop scenes.
Fans can expect to hear everything you would hear on Lowe's radio show, from Alkaline Trio, Pharrell Williams, Arctic Monkeys, Daft Punk, Prodigy, Missy Elliot, Jane's Addiction to Arcade Fire.
Despite having several chat rooms dedicated to his demise, the ever enthusiastic and often annoying DJ does, in his favour, have a reputation for actually listening to the demos he receives from up-and-coming bands.
Few can deny the part he played in helping the likes of The Arctic Monkeys to hit Number One.
Not a man to avoid risks, Lowe claims one of his finest hours was converting a room full of ravers to the delights of the alternative music scene, when he played at Ibiza's Manumission. If he can convert a room of 8,000 dance fans maybe he can convert anyone.
To book tickets, call the Box Office on 01228-625222 or log on to www.thesandscentre.co.uk or www.brickyard.co.uk or www.ticketweb.co.uk The event features support DJs and runs from 8pm 1 am.
