WITH the sound seal of approval from some of Britain's hip hop heavy-weights, drum and bass band Scassa Monakee take a detour from the bright lights of the city clubs and head to Kendal.
The northern five-piece, who have been given the thumbs up from the likes of renegade rapper Roots Manuva and hip hop heavyweight DJ Yoda, front a six-strong line-up at The Park on February 18.
Scassa Monakee head the second half of the night 11pm until 2am at The Park alongside Kendal hip hop DJ Shaolin Monkey.
The night has been organised by South Lakeland promoter Evolved Addict, whose Christmas bash lured Cornish band Prime Scandal and the likes of West Coast band Colurblind to Kendal back in December.
The first half of next month's music night will see a line-up of local bands take to the stage between 8pm and 11pm.
Armed with a new set of material Arnside's Call Of Duty are poised to play alongside west Cumbrian indie band Silvertone, Nothing Less and Workington's Innominate and their high-energy melodic hardcore.
Evolved Addict is offering a free ticket for the first five people who text SCASSA MONAKEE and their name to 077-3050-3761.
Tickets are available on the door and cost £6 before 10pm, £7 after, or £5 with an NUS card.
