Filmmaker sheds light on his craft.
AWARD-winning writer, director and producer Chee Keong Cheung is passing on a few tips to budding filmmakers at a two-day course at Lancaster's Folly gallery.
Chee Keong has produced and directed more than 20 short films and has consulted and advised on a further 50 productions, working with international filmmakers from the UK, France, America, India, Australia, Norway and Greece.
He has rubbed shoulders with the movers and shakers of the cinematic world at Cannes Film Festival and is working on two multi-million pound feature films with some of the industry's most respected talent.
Internationally renowned, Chee Keong started his film career at the age of 16 and heads Intense Productions Ltd, a UK-based production company.
Although he was born in the UK, his family background lies in China. And with an upbringing spread between the two countries, the combination of cultural influences has produced a highly unique style.
He took a degree in film production at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design and also studied under the acclaimed producer Dov S-Siemens, whose previous pupils include Spike Lee and Quentin Tarantino.
He runs Making a Short Film at Folly on Saturday, October 23, and Sunday, October 24, from 10am-5pm.
Cost is £55/ concessions £45.
